{d is for . . .}

D is for deadline! No, just kidding. But the deadline to get entered into my drawing to win 1 of 5 free “Life’s a Party” kits is tonight at midnight! See this previous post for all the details.

D is actually for . . .

DISNEYLAND!

This is me and Mickey when I was probably 2 or 3. As you can see, I’ve ALWAYS loved Mickey Mouse and Disneyland. Josh and I have season passes, even though we live clear out here in Utah. We go as much as we can! Disneyland is my very favorite place in the world. Walking through the gates, and onto Main Street is the best feeling in the world. I leave the world behind and enter the Happiest Place on Earth. It’s a magic like nothing else. My family has always been really into Disneyland. My parents went there on their honeymoon! So, they started it all!!

I love the Mouse and Disneyland so much that I even started and still run a “Disneyland Photo of the Day” (DPOTD) email group with friends and family. It’s actually grown to include friends of friends! Each day, Monday through Friday I email the group a photo of something from Disneyland. Some weeks have themes, some weeks don’t. Then on Friday, after they’ve seen all 5 photos, they have the weekend to vote for their favorite. Then on Monday I announce the winner and it starts all over again! There’s really no point to the game, other than to bring a little Disney magic into every day. But for some reason its been very fun. In March we’ll be celebrating DPOTD’s 1 year anniversary! We are all going to meet at Disneyland to celebrate!! Haha!

So, yes Disney and Disneyland are a big part of who Brittney is.

Thanks for reading!!

  1. That’s so cool that you love it so much! I would have loved to go to Disneyland when I was a kid, and actually now that I have my own kids we would love to take them. It’s a long way from New Zealand, whichever Disneyland we chose, lol.

    Actually, when my cousin was about 8, her parents told her one night that in the morning they needed to talk to her about something important, and so she lay awake all night, so excited.. convinced they were taking her to Disneyland.. but in the morning, no.. her parents told her they were getting divorced! How heartbreaking!!!

  3. We are big Disney fans here, too. But for us it is Disney World (thank goodness they put one on both coasts, LOL). Love your layout. It is a perfect image of the magic of Disney.

  4. Hi Britt,

    I’m *sure* you get the Disney Insider emails, but on the REMOTE chance that you don’t, I wanted to give you a link to an article that was in my inbox this morning:

    My DH works for Careerbuilder and I can TOTALLY see you as Chief Magic Official. You MUST apply and you MUST be given the job!! Wish I could say my husband would have some pull in the process, but he’s only an IT guy – and for CB, not WD.

    Let us know if you put in an app, ok??
