We went to Josh’s last pre-LASIK appointment this afternoon and they told us he’s finally ready for the surgery! Because he’s worn hard contacts for so long, its been two months of wearing glasses, monthly appointments and waiting. But today they gave him the green light. We went to the front desk to schedule it and he’s going in TOMORROW MORNING!! Sort of sudden, but we are so excited for him. Josh has been in glasses or contacts since the age of 5, so he doesn’t really remember life with perfect vision. I’m so thrilled to be able to do this for him! It’s sort of like a miracle.
Anyway – we need everyone’s prayers that all goes well. The percentage of patients with any problems is very low, but its his EYEBALLS for crying out loud!

Will be thinking of you guys! I did notice he was wearing his glasses more often. I so want to get it but am scared, so will be anxiously waiting to see how he does.

Good Luck with the Lasik! I work for an eye clinic and it really is a very safe surgery, but yes… eyeballs… very important that it goes well! 🙂
Josh will not believe the ease of Lasik. I am about to celebrate 5 years of freedom and I had PRK one eye at a time! Besides having my kiddies it's the best thing I ever did! It's THAT good!
How exciting!! Coming from another with terrible vision, I wish him luck and hope everything goes well. Someday I'm going to take the plunge, too!! 🙂

I got Lasik several years ago and LOVE it! It was such a miracle to be able to see the alarm clock without bringing it up to my nose or to see which bottle was shampoo and conditioner without having to memorize colors/patterns! Best of luck to Josh!

Good luck!!!! Defiitely prayers and good vibes your way! My dh was in the small percentage of people that didn't do so well. My mom had it done about 4 years ago and is very happy with her results.
That is awesome! I'm like Josh and have worn glasses/contacts since I was 4.5. I'm sure he is really excited to be free of glasses/contacts. I hope it all goes well.
