I know that many of you who wrote in to give me tips about Disney World will be patting me on the back for our choice to put this in our Disney World Schedule!! I’m VERY excited to tell you guys that . . .
YEP! We bought tickets to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for Friday, Oct. 2. At first we weren’t interested in going because when we read the description on Disney’s website, it sounded an awful lot like Mickey’s Halloween Treat at California Adventure that we went to back in 2007. Don’t get me wrong – Mickey’s Halloween Treat (its since been renamed to Mickey’s Trick or Treat Party) was a blast! But it was because we were with my little nephews. It was very fun, but not something we’d want to do again without kids. There weren’t fireworks and the parade wasn’t really a parade. It was just 1 float and some dancers. Fun for the kids, but nothing really incredible. We are already spending enough on this trip, we didn’t want to spend an extra hundred bones.
But – after getting many, many emails from you guys suggesting (some demanding) that we go to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (or MNSSHP) as the Disney pros call it), and telling us all the cool stuff that goes on there, we decided it just sounded like too much fun to pass up! We are BIG Halloween fans, so I know we’re going to love it!! Now we just have to come up with some easy costumes that we can pack and be comfortable in all night. I’m SO EXCITED!!!
As we make plans like this I get more and more and MORE excited for our trip!! I seriously can’t wait. Only 65 more days! It’s going by so quickly!!! Thank goodness.
Don’t forget to turn your CT Applications in before midnight tonight. I won’t be accepting any after that. 🙂
Hope you guys had a great Sunday!
I can't wait to go to Disney World someday!!! You are making me wish I was going soon!! LOL Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back, then you will have some amazing tips for us…
i just sent mine in – hope i wasn't too late!
That's AWESOME!! I hope you'll give us a full report when you get back and some "expert" tips yourself! =) Another teacher and I always took our Jr. High kids to Florida over Spring Break in April so I've never been to a Mickey Trick-or-Treat party! =)
so jealous.
I am so glad you decided to go to mnsshp! I wish my family would decide to go, but luckily I'll have plenty of chances to go myself, and even work it. I just found out that I'll be working in Fantasyland! So you definitely need to come and say "hi" to me while on your trip!
Oh so fun!!! I am going to Disneyland on Sunday! Taking my son for his 4th birthday which is on Saturday… we are super excited!!
Oh my, we are going the last day of the party this year!!!!! I have been dying to hear stuff about it, so glad I found this! We go to WDW every year or other year, as we live so close, but never could pay the extra these kind of events!!!! Can't wait to hear what you thought about it. Have a safe and fun trip!
Awesome decision, you won't regret it – most fun party ever!
You will LOVE MNNSHP! 🙂
I went 2 years ago with 4 mom's and 7 little girls. Both the kids and "kids at heart" had a blast.
Be sure and dress up as it adds so much to the fun! 🙂
I can't wait for your post when you GET BACK from Disneyworld- I must know all about the Halloween party. I'm the same girl that reads copies of Steve Birnbaum's Disney guides just for fun. I'm so excited for your trip!

Omgosh I had tickets to this too, but we exchanged them for the Christmas deal. I'm soo happy!!
OH! You will be SO GLAD you did this! The Boo To You Parade is tied with Spectromagic for my favorite Disney parade. It is great! You'll have the parade music stuck in your head for at least a week!
Be sure not to miss the Headless Horseman who rides just before the parade. AND…check out the gravediggers. They are my favorite part of the parade! FUN! FUN! FUN!

Britt – we're going to be at MNSSHP the same date! Looking forward to it!
