{bad blogger}

Do you ever get in those moods where you just don’t feel like blogging? I’ve been in a blogging slump lately for sure. Sorry about that. Possibly because nothing exciting is going on.

I have to say I’m sorely disappointed by the realization of how much my dream photo-wall would cost.  Almost a year ago I saw this amazing project on Tara Whitney’s blog and fell in love.  I have the perfect wall for it and I REALLY wanted to do it.  So, I’m finally ready to decorate (yeah I don’t know why its taken me so long to get to this point) and I just added up how much it would cost and its A LOT more expensive than I was thinking.  The prints alone would be $100, and the frames would be another $55 on top of that.  Probably not much for some people, but for us that’s just too much. 🙁  Maybe I can save up for it, but I’m just so disappointed it can’t happen relatively soon.  I mean – my gosh – I’ve been dreaming of it for a year now.  Why didn’t I start saving then?!  Dumb Brittney.

BUT, I do have something exciting happening tomorrow! ScrapMatters is official starting their new product release day on Fridays!! It’s sort of been the unofficial new release day, but now its going to be official. All new products will be released Fridays mornings from here on out. Yes, your Friday mornings just got even more eventful.

So – for our first official New Product Friday at SM I’m releasing a brand new kit!! And, I thought you all might like a little sneak peek.

Curious??  Well, I guess I’ll see you tomorrow then!

  1. Britt,
    I don’t know what size the photo wall pictures are, but adoramapix.com occasionally has $1.99 11×14 prints. If that size would work you might be able to afford your wall! I have used them for over 5 years and have always been happy with the results.

  2. Sounds like you need a “Photo Wall” special promo, kind of like your new couch fund. I LOVE that photo wall. After you mentioned it the first time I totally bookmarked it and am dying to do it myself, but I can’t get myself in gear to figure it all out! I know it will happen at your house though.

  3. I know the feelign about blogging.
    I would be happy to print your photos for cost. 🙂 Email me and we’ll figure out what sizes you need and maybe my price is cheaper than what you are planning on paying. Good luck. I love to get a project done on the cheap myself…

  4. Oh, I’ve been a bad blogger too, but I do have something exciting going on, so what’s my excuse? lol

    I hear ya on the photo wall! I ended up asking for mine for Christmas, but I still had to spend some out of pocket, even cheap frames add up fast!
    What about if you had them printed on something like styrene and then hung them on the wall w/o frames? It might help cut costs a little bit… just a thought. 🙂

    I agree with Paige… lets have a Photo Wall promo! I could use some new stiches or maybe some text paths and stiches that are the same path. Come up with a cute mini kit and let us know what it is for and you will have that wall paid for in no time!

  6. Britt, I’m so sorry about your disappointment! I remember very well when you first talked about this project. $100 for the prints sounds like an awful lot!! 🙁 Don’t be upset: start saving and you’ll get there in no time!! Have you picked all the pictures already?? Can we see? 🙂 I’m so curious!
    Also, Paige’s idea to repeat what you did for raising the money for the new couch is great!

  7. I feel for you because I want that same wall! Tara should get together with a company to offer a special price for people who found that on her blog 🙂 I decided to try to recreate it with photos that are a traditional size so the frames and photo developing will be cheaper. I get got as far as narrowing down which photos to use….and then found out we were pregnant again. So now my wall is on hold again to include the baby.

    I was going to suggest the same idea of a “photo wall” promo but they beat me to it. Maybe you could create a kit with a camera, frames, stuff like that and help to raise some of the money? Oh wait, that would mean I’d spend money that I was going to use on MY wall……LOL

    Sad! That’s a lot of money to me, too! I like the fundraising idea AND the idea of figuring out a cheaper way to do it! Call some print shops in your area and see if there’s something you could do cheaper… Then maybe you could get a sheet of plexi-glass cut down (Home Depot)and figure out a frame or decoupage it. I really like the idea of printing it on styrene or some other sturdy thing like vinyl or laminate. Hmm, now I’m interested…
